Day trips around SEQ

I thought I would start a thread for posting some suggestions for day trips.

Please add to this thread as you wish.

My first one is Lunch at Grandchester.

Weekday.

Nambour is a good day trip, can grab lunch somewhere in the town centre and the ride is quite scenic. I've also done day trips with lunch stops at Rosewood and Springfield.

GC train > tram to Broadbeach south with lunch at Pacific fair (and maybe a swim?) Is also pretty good, but it's a long trip coz the tram is pretty slow through southport

Yes Tim, Nambour is a nice day trip.  I have done that a number of times. 

I have also done Cooroy a few times. Although It can be a bit tight because of the poor rail timetable north of Nambour.

Cleveland is a nice day trip as well.  Historic line the Cleveland line in some respects, complete with single line working  . 

Plenty of nice venues for lunch at Cleveland.
