$4.60 return from and back to Southern Cross (concession, even adult is $9.20).

With fares at $4.60 for a return ticket max on Vline, pays to get in early.
Reserved seating for Wangaratta and Bairnsdale.

My planned trip Bairnsdale on 22nd August 2023 is no more, again!

V/Line Travel Update

Due to Gippsland Line Upgrade and Level Crossing Removal Project works, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross, Traralgon, and Bairnsdale for the entire journey from Monday 21 August to Sunday 10 September.

^ NR 100 was a late replacement loco. NR 44 was to be the loco but it had a fault.  NR 100 was used at short notice.  Service still left Melbourne on time at 8:05am and arrival at Ararat on time 11:43am.

Level crossings at Murrumbeena and Carnegie were removed in 2018. Been 5 years now and this has allowed for the linear...
