Hey everyone, I'm sure you've all seen those 'development of the network'-style videos on YouTube, and I'm keen on making one myself for Brisbane. Before I do that however, I need to actually make sure I've got all my network history down pat. I've compiled a list starting with the opening of the Merivale Bridge of any reasonably big infrastructure changes - no minor station rebuilds/upgrades, but otherwise all the duplication, opening, closing, etc. I also included station renaming, as this changes how things appear on the map.

Anyway, here's my best attempt at figuring everything out. Is there anything I'm missing/have gotten wrong?

1993-?-?: Doboy Station on the Cleveland Line closed
1993-?-?: Ipswich to Rosewood electrified
1993-9-27: Entire Pinkenba line closed
1996-2-25: Beenleigh extended to Helensvale

I believe it was just Keperra to Ferny Grove that was duplicated in 2012, the rest had already been done.

Hey AOB, were you also intending to include when lines were converted to 15 minute all day frequencies? I think that's important and often overlooked.

G'day AOB,

The 14km Caboolture to Beerburrum rail duplication opened on 14 April 2009.
Also new stations were built at Beerburrum and Elimbah as part of the above project.
It was a $298 million contract.

Yep, just did some digging and it was Michelton to Keperra Feb 2008, and Keperra-FG 2012. Nice spotting!

That's definitely an important part, if you know when these conversions happened (or know how to find out) I can certainly include it

If we included everything promised but not delivered it'd be a 3 part movie trilogy :woz:

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to include the notable projects which have been shelved, such as possible extensions in the future.
