MOGGILL is Brisbane's baby factory, Taringa residents like to take the train to work and Burbank has the most three-car households in the city.

These are among the details to be found in a new series of community snapshots, posted on the Brisbane City Council's website.

Using data from the past four censuses, the website allows users to compare the city's suburbs, based on socio-demographic characteristics such as population, size of families, home ownership, income, education and religion.

The database has revealed the biggest households in Brisbane can be found at Karawatha, where the average number of people sharing a home is 3.43.

Moggill has the most babies ? with 2.1 per cent of the population under one year old and 11 per cent under five ? while Mt Ommaney has the most teens.

Brisbane women looking to meet a man should head to Wacol, where 65.1 per cent of the population is male.

Men, on the other hand, will have more joy at Albion, where women make up 55.9 per cent of the local population.

For cultural diversity, Robertson has the highest foreign-born population, with more than half coming from overseas.

The community profiles also reveal that The Gap is the most online suburb in the city, with four in every five people having internet access.

Brookfield has the highest percentage of volunteers ? close to one-third of its population ? while male-dominated Wacol is the suburb least interested in volunteering.

When it comes to transport, Burbank prefers to drive. More than 40 per cent of households have three or more cars.

But residents in Lutwyche and Taringa are more inclined to public transport, with a quarter of them taking the bus or train to work.

On the home front, nearly 60 per cent of Rochedale residents are owners, while almost two-thirds of Bowen Hills residents are renters.

For those still paying off a mortgage, Pullenvale and Pinjarra Hills families are among the most indebted, while Wacol residents are in to the banks for much less.

Newstead tops the income scale, with the biggest percentage of high earners. At the other end of the scale, Nathan has the most low income earners.

On the job front, Inala has the most labourers and Richlands the most sales workers, while the inner city is heavily populated with managers.

If 3/4 of people don't take public transport to work it is little wonder that our roads are choked.
