Trouble in paradise ....

Seems to me the wheels are falling off with a number of transport projects in SEQ particularly.

Inland rail seems to be unable to coherently plan progress past Kagaru  ... lot of opposition being stirred up.

Gold Coast Light Rail stage 4 seems to have conflicting messages.

Level Crossing removals are in stagnation.

Cross River Rail is attempting to change the messaging from ' more trains more often ' to ' you will change the way you travel '.
Clearly not going to deliver the expected services first anticipated.  Well they can't with the apparent problems with the track layouts.

The upgrade of the Sunshine Coast line Beerburrum to Landsborough has been chopped to Beerwah north.  Still hasn't really started.

NGR upgrades are nearly a year late ...

Any more?

Northern Busway.

We went from a full grade separated busway, to on-street 24/7 buslanes, to now just peak-hours transit lanes.

And even then I haven't heard much progress in this department. Not sure if anything is actually happening?

And a Hamilton rail extension that was previously mentioned as "future long term" planning has disappeared entirely.

It's funny, the eastern transitway intersection at Carindale has already started despite the northern transitway beginning first.

The only hope is to get rail and public transport out of DTMR.

It is to our Governments eternal shame they lacked the courage to set up a proper public transport authority as recommended by the CRU.

Network infrastructure deficits include:

1. Sunshine Coast line

2. Cleveland line

3. Kuraby - Beenleigh

4. Operational problems with proposed CRR track layouts.

5. Level crossing removals far to slow.

6. Train fleet for Citytrain operations is not sufficient.

There is also the problem with the history of rail failure and DTMR.

The former DDG TransLink Mr Matthew Longland is now the Chief Executive Sydney Trains.

Appears that the CEO Cross River Rail Mr Graeme Newton is considering his future options as reported in the Couriermail.

All is not well ....
