(No, that's not a typo—Next Next Generation Rollingstock.)

It's becoming increasingly apparent that the amount of sets QR has available and will have available into the future will be inadequate once CRR comes online (assuming any decent frequency is to be maintained). What is QR/DTMRs plan to acquire more rollingstock? Right now, it looks like they don't have one. We really should be pushing this in the media. It seems rollingstock shortages are likely to become the next #railfail.

I made this thread so as not to confuse these with the NGR's

Was planned ages ago as part of the contract. Phase 1 is a small boost in rollingstock and phase out of emus. Phase 2 is replacing the remaining emus. Phase 3 is fleet expansion ie more ngr units. Rollingstock in India will be pumped out very quickly. It's one of the reasons why mods can't be easily made as the production is well down the line.
