Please feel to add your priorities to this thread.

Some to start with ..

1. Public Transport Queensland

2. Restoration of a proper rail service timetable

3. Bus network reform - even just adjusting the timetable to allow for the altered running would be a start

4. Establishment of a Public Transport Ombudsman for Queensland

5. Actual commencement of Beerburrum to Landsborough upgrade and duplication

6. Rectification of NGRs for DDA compliance well underway

7. Proper station upgrades to include full length full height platforms

Bus reform can happen now. Cost neutral and can be completed in 12 - 18 months.

Start with Centenary Suburbs. Or even assurances from Green and Red Team to run with BUZ or CentenaryGlider again. Hopefully Mr Harding has learned trams won't get votes.

BCC needs to stop stalling. It has gone on for 5+ years now.

Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

  • Rail Services Restored to at least those planned at the opening of the Redcliffe Peninsula Line.
  • Actual work starting on Cross River Rail.
  • Start of permanent rectification of NGR disability issues
  • Some attempt at bus network reform, maybe starting with Centenary

The Centenary thing is not going to happen, until the Summers Road Bridge project is complete.

I doubt that services will be restored to post Redcliffe line opening.

Looks like the other 2 wishes are well on their way.

Happy 2019 Public Transport New Year !

Good Morning,

As 2018 draws to a close, here are some things we would like to see addressed in 2019 from a public transport point of view.

1.  Formation of a stand alone statutory authority (we suggest Public Transport Queensland) to administer the delivery of public transport in Queensland.  The present structures don't work, and have delivered gross failure.

2.  Restoration of the October 2016 Citytrain rail timetable, and then progressive further frequency improvements. The general low frequency of the rail services (and connected bus services) is the fundamental problem with the SEQ public transport network.

3.  Bus network reform. Years overdue and now causing considerable problems with bus reliability, poor frequency and connections. A sign of the increasing frustration is the fact that BCC has started its own consultation for reform of the Centenary bus network.  Peak bus running times need adjustment throughout SEQ.

4.  Establishment of a Public Transport Ombudsman for Queensland.  There needs to be means for redress by passengers frustrated by token ' cut and paste ' responses by TransLink, Government and operators. There is at present no real accountability or means for compensation.

5.  Rectification of the NGRs for DDA compliance underway.

6.  Actual construction works for CRR tunnels commenced.

7.  Actual commencement of the railway line between Beerburrum to Landsborough upgrade and duplication works.

8.  Community consultation as to the range of ticketing products that will be available with the Next Generation Ticketing system.

9.  Real progress with the implementation of Automatic Train Protection (ETCS L2) on the Citytrain network.

10.  Improved reporting of ontime running, all modes - rail, bus and ferry.

Happy new year!

Best wishes,

Robert
