One of the reasons for heading to Cooroy for our end of year trip, it does provide the opportunity highlight the lack of rail services Nambour <> Gympie North.  There is growing support for a regular rail shuttle connecting Gympie North with the intermediate towns such as Cooran, Pomona, Cooroy to Nambour.  Stations are being upgraded, the rail line in place and sparked.  In other states such as NSW and Victoria there would be no hesitation to do the shuttle.  Here in Queensland we just have apathy. This will become a renewed focus for 2019.

TMR plans new vehicle entrance to Cooroy station as part of intersection upgrades.  Bus stop to be moved and bicycle lanes improved. The 'rocket launcher' overhead pedestrian crossing remains.

Glad the footbridge is remaining, it is rather unique!   :-t

Enjoyed the day. Great to catch up with our Sunny Coast reps. The 631 bus had plenty of passengers. Cooroy RSL always excellent meals.

Looks like a great day was had by all! Unfortunately I couldn't make it - had something on that evening meaning a 4:59pm arrival would have had me arriving too late to attend that.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?
