Not good.  Some pax would be leaving Sandgate and going on the RPL I expect.  But that doesn't explain the overall slow decline.

#railfail has not been overly kind to the Shorncliffe line either.

What is going on?

Sandgate would have been one of the stations affected by RPL. Some parking, easy connection to the Peninsular whilst avoiding the Gateway car park (Motorway) by coming through Brighton.

North Boondall lost most of it's car park during the works to widen/replace the Gateway overpasses. Access from Sandgate Rd has also been affected by the works.

Boondall may have been affected again by the Gateway Upgrade works & RPL. (easy access from Gateway but bad traffic). Boondall is also the station for the Entertainment centre, so it could be as simple as a few less concerts those two years when compared to earlier years.
