Not surprising that toombul and nundah went down so much while EJ and Northgate went up.  But I'm really surprised that wooloowin went down so much.   I know it did lose nearly 20 tph in the peak, but it still has very good frequency.  (roughly 10tph in the peak)  Is it a case of them moving to EJ, lost completely or inconvenienced because there end destination is milton or beyond.

they have clearly moved to the express stations so they can get a seat, arent crammed in as much and/or better frequency.
These are clear and evident results highlighted by the alternate declines on a lot of the Shorncliffe and ferny grove line stations....where commuters don't have those 'escape' options and have had to put up with the overcrowded all-stops services.
They are the lines where commuters have told QR/Translink to stick it where the sun don't shine and started to drive or use TFB bus services...

QuoteI'm continually frustrated by the reduction of services for Toombul and Nundah. Massive residential development and dwindling public transport. Any plans for a timetable overhaul?

QuoteYou are unbelievable QR!!! Such a pathetic excuse for a railway system......Third World service....no actually, Third World countries run their rail system much more efficiently!!! You don't care at all about your passengers getting on or off at Wooloowin, Albion, Toombul or Nundah... You decide to make trains run express at the very last minute, then the next train is so packed no one can get on....thanks for making me late for work again....seriously it's about time you picked your act up, cos it's a joke of a system, who is running it? A 3-year old could do better!!!
— feeling fed up.

Time to seriously discuss changing stopping patterns.....the wipeout of patronage from these two stations...one which has undergone massive TOD transformation would have to be the most embarrassing public transport outcome i have ever seen.
How the heck can it even be mathematically possible to build so many apartments around a train station and systemically lose and then stagnate patronage on such a massive level??

Time to highlight this embarassment even further courtesy of the data visualised by henrus.....

First of all....if you haven't already...take a look at those horrendous drops for Nundah rail...
Now here is a selection of bus stops which have had the similar T.O.D happen around the immediate area...

Sandgate Rd at Nundah, stop 2

Logan Rd at Lewis Street, stop 11

Old Cleveland Rd at Coorparoo, stop 23

Coorparoo Square - Holdsworth St

Holdsworth st/OCR stops gets a mention because the stop on OCR has not had its patronage cannibalised...even with the introduction of the new stop on holdsworth...proving that the TOD development is responsible for the patronage growth..
And we are not even getting into the massive successes of james st or south Brisbane etc...

This really does highlight how much they have stuffed up Nundah rail station as well as Toombul, wooloowin etc due to those rail stopping patterns...
One of the key issues which has to be addressed is the exposure to station skipping and/or rolling stock issues.....they need to minimise these at the inner stations because whatever small gains that happen over the coming years are at risk.
We have already seen that commuters will abandon the stations if they are messed around too much...

Thanks TB. In one FB post the standard feedback, the other FB post so far ignored so far by Queensland Rail.

The rail network is not in good shape and the compromise #railfail timetables will not be fixed by years by the looks of things.

Not much point in raising anything at present as it will be lost and dismissed as Christmas etc. approaches, but we can certainly do something early next year.
