PARAMEDICS worked to save the life of a man who sustained critical injuries after being hit by a bus in Ipswich this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports of a man hit by a vehicle on Santa Monica Drive in Augustine Heights at 3.45pm.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Paramedics said he had sustained head, chest and pelvic injuries.
