Summary:

Buses

Herston busway station will again be our main bus hub for Ekka.

Jump on an Ekka shuttle from Carindale and Eight Mile Plains, or any route 330, 333 or 340 service from Chermside direct to Herston.

Travelling from somewhere else? Use our journey planner to find the best trip to and from Herston busway station.

Herston station is just a short walk (550m) to the Sideshow Alley entrance at Gate 6. If you have trouble walking this distance, you can change to an Ekka loop train at Roma Street to get dropped off in the middle of the showground.



Trains

Exhibition station will be open all through this year's show.

Catch any city-bound train and swap to the Ekka loop service at Roma Street, Central or Fortitude Valley station.

Loop services run from 9am til 11pm each day.


Queensland Rail will be operating a heritage steam train service on the Ekka loop from 10am until 3.45pm on Wednesday 15 August

The steam train will operate alongside regular electric services on the loop.


The following additional services will operate during this year's show:

    Saturday 11 & 18 August
        9.21pm - Roma Street to Nambour

Sunday 12 & 19 August
        6.53am - Nambour to Central
        8.27am - Ipswich to Central
        8.34am - Springfield Central to Central
        9.09am - Springfield Central to Central
        9.21pm - Roma Street to Nambour


Ekka travel ticket

Save money with the Ekka Travel Ticket. Its just $6 adults and $3 children/concession for return travel from anywhere on the TransLink SEQ network (excluding Airtrain).

Ekka travel tickets can only be purchased from the following locations:

    Attended Queensland Rail train stations - check Queensland Rail website for opening times; or
    On-board bus or ferry services (excludes pre-paid and free services).

You must show your pre-purchased Ekka entry ticket when purchasing the travel tickets on the day you are attending Ekka.

If you are travelling on an EK shuttle, you don't need a pre-purchased Ekka entry ticket to buy the travel ticket.
