Will be spending a week in Melbourne over Christmas (following on from a week in Perth).

Looking forward to checking out Sky Rail progress and what not.

I have no doubt we will have a very much reduced service in SEQ over this period hey?

#FleeQLD !

"Just missed the train, only another 60 mins or so (that is, if it isn't cancelled)".

Just caught 4.59am from Murrumbeena to Oakleigh, quite a lot of passengers on the train. They do it well here in Melbourne. What a contrast to the #railfail state!

After Christmas lunch I plan to head to Southland to check it out.  Might do some tramming too.

Southland Station --> https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/projects/railway-stations/new-station-at-southland/

SEQ PT is an embarrassment.  Trains are running every 10 minutes today on the Frankston line.

Huge numbers of passengers travelling on the trains today in Melbourne.  Cricket, boxing day sales etc. obviously driving a lot of it.  I travelled on train from Murrumbeena to Caulfield this morning that was packed even more than I have seen at normal peaks.

Chadstone has been a disaster.  Buses not able to cope with the passenger loads.

Frequency for rail today generally very good (modified Saturday timetable).  Even the Williamstown <> Newport shuttle is every 20 minutes.

#Metro

Dump the qld rail operator and regulator.

Melbourne and Perth miles ahead, though it wasn't always this way.

(PTUA usually put out their "how Melbourne got all night NYE trains", it's a classic)

I have really enjoyed my travels to Perth and then onto Melbourne.

Always good to be reminded what a functional rail service is actually like to travel around on ..   :P

Been interesting telling acquaintances and family etc. the details of the SEQ #railfail.  They are really quite gobsmacked, particularly rail industry types.
