Finally healing the off peak cuts made under Carr (?)

^^I saw a tv report on this a couple of weeks ago pertaining to the Airport line mainly. "Increasing offpeak frequency" Good to see that Sydney residents will have less waiting time at most rail stations in the future.

15 mins along the North Shore Line was such a breeze when I was there. Got a feeder bus every 15 mins from St Ives (Forest Coaches 195/6/7) to Gordon station where a train was not far behind at all. Easy trip to both Hornsby and the City.

Frequency doubled to the airport? That means a train every 7.5 minutes to the airport from Central Sydney. I remember staying about 10 minutes from Mascot, the 15 minute frequency was wonderful. Never had a need to use the bus, even though it was less of a walk.

Meanwhile, Brisbane is only managing 2tph on Sundays due to contractual agreements with Airtrain... :fp:
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

In Sydney its more viable for them to run at that frequency because the line actually continues onwards to East Hills and Campbelltown....There are two service patterns running through it.
