Please post your priorities for 2016!

1. Fare review completed - new fare structure implemented July 2016?

2. Bus network reform achieved.

3. Commencement of works - track amplification Beerburrum to Landsborough North.

4. ETCS L2 for suburban network.

After those above

- CCR
- Rail to Sunshine Coast

Whilst not public transport but to stop wasting funds on more roads and thus freeing up more for public transport

- separated bike lanes on all major roads
- legislation requiring Induced Remand be included in all transport planning/project business cases!!

Can't argue with your priorities, Ozbob.  All doable in 2016, including start on Beerburrum-Landsborough North duplication.

I think only a few priorities are good.

I would add greater density in general/TOD/ land value capture as another one. QLD Government loves crying poor, but the reality is that it does have the fundraising capacity - it just doesn't want to use it.
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

My first priority would be ensuring we have a transport minister who actually listens and acts. Trad was abysmal, here's hoping Hinchliffe will make 2016 a year of actual progress. Beerburrum - Landsborough duplication, bus network reform and completion of the Fare Review are the big things for 2016.

Sadly I don't think we are going to see anything big ticket - GC rail extensions (heavy or light), CRR - beyond what has been announced, I think that'll be it with the CapEx for a few years.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

5. Sort out the overcrowded 3-car unit services!
(The NGRs seem to be missing in action)

They're not missing in action, they're due to be introduced around mid 2016, which has been the case for quite some time now.

The first delivery was supposed to be in late 2015. It is now 2016.

Delivery doesn't mean in service. It is due at the end of this month. One month isn't "missing in action", it's a small delay.

Temporary is permanent in Queensland - you're welcome

Good Morning,

To further highlight the sad situation on the Sunshine Coast Line.  Consider the temporary platform situation.

In December 2011, following a RTI request (see below), documents dated 2009 & 2010 indicated that  "These temporary platforms will ultimately be replaced with permanent platforms within a period of 12 to 18 months."

The seven temporary rail platforms located at Mooloolah, Eudlo, Palmwoods, Woombye, Eumundi, Pomona and Cooran along the Sunshine Coast line are still temporary steel scaffold structures with plywood painted decks.. subject to weathering and uneven edges.

At one stage mould eating fungi were enjoying the timber floor fare.

By 30 June 2011 they were all to be replaced with permanent structures!   It is now 2016.  Shocking the way the Sunshine Coast is treated.

More proof of the bungle that is politics and infrastructure policy in Queensland.

It is time that the this critical piece of infrastructure, namely the Sunshine Coast Line was upgraded. It will deliver major benefits for freight and passenger transport and the community.  The road systems are a fester of death, injury, congestion and cost.  It is time the failing road-obsessed transport paradigm was turned for real.

Best wishes

Robert
