Riverfire
Venue:
South Bank, Brisbane
Date and times:
Saturday 26 September 2015, 7:00pm to 7:30pm
Heading to Riverfire? Let TransLink take you there.

With extra bus and train services to and from Riverfire and extra ferry services after Riverfire, it's even easier to avoid parking and traffic hassles.

Due to extensive road closures throughout the City, South Bank, Kangaroo Point, Story Bridge, West End and Fortitude Valley areas, there'll be diversions and stop closures in place. Don't forget to check for current and upcoming service changes.

Ticket and fare information

Please check back closer to the event for details about free travel on all regular network-wide Brisbane Transport buses and Queensland Rail City Network trains after Riverfire.

There'll be no free travel on Brisbane City Council ferries due to limited capacity and to ensure passenger safety. Normal TransLink fares and conditions will apply.

Changes to ferry services

CityCat and CityFerry services will be disrupted by Riverfire. South Bank will be fenced off and closed once full. We recommend you travel early, due to the popularity of the CityCat services.

The after event train service fails to resemble the timetable anyway.

Are QR going to again run their (? Zero Harm) policy of running trains into South Bank and South Brisbane at painfully slow speeds, thus actually adding to crowding on platforms and delaying all services?

petey3801

Yes, it's part of the 'Special Event' procedures. Same happens after football/major sporting matches etc.
All opinions stated are my own and do not reflect those held by my employer.

dancingmongoose

Not sure how they propose getting from Bowen hills to corinda in 2 minutes

Good job that London Underground, Paris Metro, or Tokyo Metro don't run trains slowly through busy platforms, as otherwise no one would ever get home. This is Brisbane....
