Proposal to upgrade Sunshine Rail Services

RAIL ? Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community organisation for the promotion of rail throughout Australia has said that proposals to upgrade some Sunshine Coast rail services are welcome but long overdue.

Robert Dow, on behalf of RAIL Back On Track said:

?The Sunshine Coast Daily News has reported that QR is considering upgrading the 3.57pm service from Roma St to Nambour from 3 to 6 cars to help ease overcrowding.  Additionally two existing all-station morning services, the 4.40am and 5.26am from Nambour to Brisbane, may be changed to express services from Caboolture to Brisbane Central, with stops at Petrie and Northgate only.?

?These changes will encourage more commuters to make the journey by rail than take their chances on congested roads.  RAIL Back On Track hopes that the rest of the suburban network will also have timetable improvements sooner than later, to help ease the chronic traffic gridlock and congestion that is now a daily feature of Brisbane roads, and provide for more safe and efficient rail travel options for the community.?

?It is pleasing that QR - Citytrain, Translink and the Government are starting to respond to commuters? suggestions and feedback.  Thank you!?
