I've noticed on the Greyhound website that they are current advertising $15 fares (specials) to Noosa (Noosa Junction Station).  A standard Greyhound fare to Noosa (non-special Flexi) ranges between $22-$30 depending on date.

Looking at the TransLink website, a adult go card would be $21.35 (Peak), $17.08 (Off Peak).  A paper ticket would be $30.

While the Greyhound may get people there just over 2 hours (at the fastest) to 3 hours at the slowest (the coach service that calls in at all SC locations), they only have 4 services a day (3 of the services are express services that continue through to Central/Northern Qld).

The TransLink equivalent (QR/Sunbus), takes 2 hrs and 52 minutes at the fastest (and that's using the Gympie North express trains to Nambour followed by a quick connection to the 630/631 at Nambour).   Others take a bit over 3 hours, which all those listed combinations are the Nambour express trains depending on patterns.

The slowest would be the combinations that require a change at Caboolture for the train shuttles/railbus services. (Varying between  3hrs 45 mins and 4 hrs)+

With times like that, it's no wonder that many decide to drive up which is a lot quicker even taking the weekday peak hour traffic on the Bruce Highway north of the Pine River into account.
