Land based works to commence at North Quay ferry terminal

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise that land based construction work will commence at the North Quay ferry terminal from Monday 23 February.


These works are part of Council's North Quay ferry terminal upgrade project. The terminal will operate as normal while land based works are carried out.

Road and pedestrian access changes will be in place from Monday 23 February until the completion of works in mid 2015.

    There will be no vehicle access from North Quay into Queens Wharf Road. Vehicle access is only available for motorists travelling north on the Pacific Motorway and exiting at Margaret Street.

    Pedestrians can access the terminal and bikeway from the footpath at the northern end of Queens Wharf Road (near North Quay) and will be detoured via the stairs near the Elizabeth Street overpass. Please follow the detour signage.

    Motorcycle parking will be temporarily relocated from the northern end of Queens Wharf Road to approximately 50 metres south, in the loading zone of the Neville Bonner building. Signage will be in place.

In the coming weeks the terminal will close for marine based works until mid 2015. Further details will be provided in advance of this temporary closure.

Council thanks residents for their patience while these important works are carried out.

Fantastic. North Quay really needs to be more noticeable and accessible. It is good to see council transport funds not being wasted.
