Gibson Island Branch

Hi All,
       The gibson island branch line has not been used for some time. Does anybody know what QR plan to do with this line?

I don't know about the Gibson Island branch but I will see if I can find something out.
Some one here may well know?

I have received some advice that despite being disconnected at the start of the Gateway bridge project it may well be reconnected in the near future.

Hey Dean

I have got several business projects in the Murarrie along the Gibson Island corridor and yes its still considered to be an active line, like Ozbob says.

The latest report i got was that it will be reconnected in a couple of years time after all extensions to the gateway in the area are completed.

Not sure what new development as this area is under seperate town planning code than Brisbane, which is a more stringent one than Brisbane, So have to wait what Application is accepted under TradeCoast Planning Policy to see if its really be reopened

                                  I regularly travel past the junction for this line with the cleveland line and noticed a large pile of new concrete sleepers placed there recently which may hopefully confirm a rare line re-opening!
