Are there any imaginative heads at QR who could pick a few stations around Brisbane that could be combined with another purpose to become destinations in their own right?  I am thinking maybe a station that also serves as a sports museum, or maybe a station that is also a fish market?  People would ride the network to the 'fisho station' to buy their fresh fish.  There has got to be ways that the private sector can get involved with some of this type of infrastructure development.  Knowing QR, however, the minds of people there are as rigid and predictable as the timetable they administer ... railway stations are for trains and nothing else. Pity.

You can't even buy a newspaper or a drink at most stations, let alone something more interesting...

darra is a future opportunity......get rid of those old shops...commuters just have to cross the rd and they are there.....good place for fish markets.....and right on a junction where two lines meet (springfield,ipswich)
