Investigating the provision of rail services to Drysdale and Torquay (2013 - )
http://ptv.vic.gov.au/projects/rail-projects/rail-feasibility-studies/#drysdaleAs part of the 2013-14 State Budget, funding has been provided to determine the feasibility of:
providing a passenger rail connection between Geelong and Torquay
reinstating passenger rail services between Geelong and Drysdale along the former Queenscliff railway alignment
The feasibility study will aim to identify what would be required to provide these services, outline proposed solutions to address any identified issues and determine the cost required to do so.
The study will undertake high level site investigations, prepare concept designs, service plans and patronage estimates, determine delivery cost estimates and project benefits, and provide an economic appraisal.
