Services originating from Kuraby & Coopers Plains departing early in AM peak

Services originating from Kuraby and Coopers Plains between 7.30am & 9am are regularly departing about 2 minutes earlier than timetabled to on inner Beenleigh Line stations until South Bank where they seem to depart on time. I rarely catch the inbound services off peak so can't make a comment whether the off peak services originating from Coopers Plains regularly run early. I have not witnessed a service originating from Beenleigh depart inner Beenleigh Line stations early though.

I brought this to TransLink's attention a couple of months but the practise still continues. On several occasions this year, my touch on time has been 2 minutes before the scheduled departure of a service & it has already left the platform. On a couple of occasions, the guard has seen me running towards the station but chooses to close the doors about 2 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

If these Kuraby & Coopers Plains originating services are going to continue to run early then shouldn't the timetable be altered to a 5 then 10 minute or 13 then 17 minute gap between services rather than the current 7 then 8 or 15 minute gap as timetabled?

I assume that your watch is on QR time?
Chronic early running is also an issue on the Ferny Grove Line during the off-peak due to the ridiculous timetable padding.

You'd want to hope at least the gocard is running to QR time...perhaps you missed the bit where Cam said he touched on 2 minute before timetabled departure and the train was gone.  I assume this is by gocard logs, or am I interpreting it wrong?

Both Go Card log & the time provided on my mobile phone from the network agree with each other. The time on my phone is also within a couple of seconds of the time on PIDs when I have checked them at various stations.

I would keep complaining to TransLink, directly to QR, write to your local MP, and write to your local paper.
