The Pongamia Project aims to make Pongamia biodiesel the leading source of biodiesel in Australia within 5 years!

Here in Australia we have a real opportunity to become independent from fossil fuels and a leader in renewable energy!



The Pongamia Project is a community engagement activity aimed at educating the public on the benefits of using biodiesel made from Pongamia pinnata -a native tree legume. We aim to change social behaviour and increase understanding of the issues surrounding renewable energies in Australia.



We believe that Pongamia biodiesel can be a source of renewable, reliable and secure energy for Australia and are working closely with scientists from the University of Queensland to try and make our dream a reality.



Our Goals are to:

    Increase funding into the research behind Pongamia

    Increase investment into plantations to help create a supply chain that will be operational within the next 5 years

    Increase the attractiveness of this sector to both investors and companies

    And finally, build support for Pongamia biodiesel to facilitate the above actions
