To be honest, this has a snowballs chance in you know what!  Regardless of preferred political colours, this is neither good policy and it clearly has no depth to it!  It ain't gonna happen - maybe for your kids-kids...

What Australia SHOULD be embracing is the long dreamed of "Inland Railway" - a much more viable and needed piece of national infrastructure!

I'm simply stunned - STUNNED - that [yet again] neither major political party has pledged to deliver it [nor possess the political brains to see the REAL mileage in it] - certainly the Stage 1 of Melbourne/Brisbane/Gladstone should be happening, with a Stage 2 to take it further north in a decades time!

- Affordable
- Necessary
- Doable

A Real focus on national productivity/industry driven on and on...and on....

High-speed rail is, at this time, an expensive mist and fog of political nonsense!
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:

Preserving a corridor I can accept.
Constructing it I cannot. Only winners there will be big engineering companies, as usual. Will lock up billions that could go to city PT otherwise.
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.
