THE new Queensland Rail boss will spend time on the train between Brisbane and Nambour to get a feel for what Sunshine Coast commuters experience every day.

Glen Dawes, who was appointed late last week, said he welcomed feedback from customers to better understand their needs to improve services especially those travelling longer distances.

If he has time, maybe he could travel to the end of the line at Gympie North -- any maybe give an indication as to whether the ICE sets will get an overhaul, or disappear to Central Qld, as some have suggested.
