My preferred option (If they must build a train that is!)
Having it as a spur line with V/Line trains makes the stopping patterns annoying to set up.
Just have cross platform interchange at the new station and its all good.

I love the HK airport express and it's in-town checkin facility.  It'd be great to have that kind of service.

Oh yes.  It could work here, and to go OT it would make rail the choice to get to airport.
