Poll Question Above.

Proposed route alteration: Wooloongabba then as per usual 230 route to Bulimba. May require 230 amalgamation after diversion is enacted.

As long as the 200 is still around, I don't really see a need for it to go to Woolloongabba.  I'd rather it went via the Story Bridge to Bulimba.

Won't happen in many years. The requirement for Gliders/BUZ routes to go via CC kills that off right away. Story Bridge access would require a lot of surface running and not save much time and it also doesn't allow for good Southside connections via the SE Busway, and leaves Wooloongabba-Roma Street connections solely up to the 340 (once the 66 and 109 merge).
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

How would one get it across the Story Bridge from KGS?

412 and 340?

Two exceptions to the general rule. 412 is tricky to get into the Cultural Centre (with 109/444 covering all the major destinations on the 412 aside from stops in St Lucia), and 340 is probably the first sign that the bus network is broken (that is, Cultural Centre is at capacity). If there wasn't such an emphasis on the Cultural Centre being the 'core' of the bus network I think we'd see a lot less buses going through it. For starters, there is practically no reason why any 400 series buses should be in there. In fact, the same could be said for a lot of the 300 series buses as well.

Lapdog, I think achiruel thought:
To Bulimba: Exiting QSBS (L) William St, (L) Elizabeth Street, through Eagle, Queen and Adelaide streets to Ivory Street, (L) via underpass to Story Bridge.
From Bulimba: Coming off story bridge (L) Ann Street, (L) North Quay (L) into QSBS to KGSBS.

Google Maps (using on-street running to measure distance states that the current routing is 600m shorter and takes a similar amount of time. If time savings are large enough in peak, put in a rocket - really shouldn't be necessary though.

Likewise the 110/115, 135, 170 and 214/215/220.

with regards to cultural centre and sending buses over the ccb from qsbs...ive noticed one thing....if one of the buzes (150,140,120 etc) at pm peak hour is 5-8 mins late (which happens almost regularly).....the buses usually fill up completely at qsbs.... hence bus is chockablock by the time it leaves cultural center and usually by mater they cant let anymore pax on.

something to think about when we talk full buses leaving QSBS and over the CCB.

SEQ: Call to divert Maroon CityGlider into Bulimba

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers calls for the diversion of the Maroon CityGlider into Bulimba.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Last year, TransLink made radical modifications to the original Maroon CityGlider route proposal, including routing the service to travel via Cultural Centre for bus connections and use of the Inner Northern Busway."

"These changes don't go far enough."

We have observed that the southern section from Cultural Centre to Stones Corner is carrying large volumes of air, not many passengers compared to the northern section of the route."

"We call on Brisbane City Council's Public and Active Transport Committee and TransLink to alter this route to be diverted into Bulimba and travel down Oxford Street (1). Beyond Cultural Centre and Stones Corner, the Maroon CityGlider does not serve any people who do not have access to a frequent bus service already."

"Once these changes are enacted, bus route 230 could be folded into the Maroon CityGlider, generating savings that can be deployed into bus services for other areas of Brisbane."
