QuoteCubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited, at the request of TransLink, a division of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, is seeking expressions of interest from interested parties to expand the number of locations offering go card services.

Interested parties will ideally have a significant network of corporate retail outlets across South-East Queensland servicing segments of the fast moving consumable goods market, such as the grocery, petroleum, news agents or convenience retail sectors. Financial institutions who believe they can provide go card services through their infrastructure and partnerships are also encouraged to participate.

Each retail outlet will be required to provide the following go card services to customers:

new card purchase
card top-up
extend card expiry date
obtain information about go card including card registration
In general, interested parties will have the capability and expertise (by partnering if required) to modify their currently deployed point of sale equipment and secure, high speed communications network to integrate with the go card central computer system in order to enable staff at each retail outlet to deliver the required services.

Parties who wish to submit an expression of interest are required to register by submitting a short capability statement (one page maximum) describing their organisation. Capability statements are to be submitted via email in Microsoft Word format or PDF to gocardretailers@cubic.com as soon as possible, but in any case no later than 5pm AEST on 10 May 2013. Expressions of interest are due by 20 May 2013.

The expression of interest process is being conducted in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the invitation for Expression of Interest document which will be made available to parties who register.

It would be awesome if one of the major supermarkets took it on. Lack of outlets has always plagued the Go Card compared to the old ten trip savers back in the day. I still think more ticket machines wouldn't hurt either.

Bit different to the 10 trippers though.  Go card is rechargeable.
