V/Line - Q Line?

In Melbourne and had the chance to take a train to Macedon station in the Macedon ranges on V/Line.

Wow, was I impressed with V/Line! New train, clean inside, not a single scratchitti, space for luggage and specialised space for bicycles. Indeed there were heaps of cyclists. Train was nice and fast (got up to very decent speed), tracks seem to be well maintained (concrete sleepers), conductor on board.

The biggest surprise was the sheer volume of people angling to get on the train, even at stations in the middle of NOWHERE 5 people turned up on the platform!

Multiple toilets in the carriages and they all function.

Maybe one way to force QR to run toilet operational rollingstock is to split Queensland Rail into Queensland Rail and Q Line Trains dedicated SOLEY for country long distance which would section off the long distance rollingstock away from QR. Would be interesting to explore how this theoretically might work and what the pros and cons are.
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

I was impressed with how on my trip to Adelaide on the Overland, even at stations served only by the Overland they were still kitted out with PTV/Viclink (same thing except for the new logo) signage.

Creating a seperate entity doesn't = more dunnies.

I think Shane has nailed it there ... Sunshine Coast commuters don't want Q/Line, they want Loo/Line.

I don't like the name Q-Line.

Think about it......

I guess P-line is out then ... a B line would be good !
or a second C-line (as in see a second line)

Amid all the indignation, we don't want the trip to the Sunny Coast becoming known as the 'dunny run'.

Well maintained track? I thought Victoria had the most poorly maintained track in Australia. Of course the benefit of broad guage is that the track doesn't need to be as well maintained. Not all the trains are new either as V/Line still use those crappy loco hauled train sets.

I also read somewhere that the RRL between Southern Cross and Sunshine will only have a top speed of 80km/h despite there being a nearly 6km long dead straight section. By comparison the Ferny Grove line has a top speed of 100km/h.
