At least the present Government has re-expanded the estimates to a sensible two week period.  Far cry from the former Government's cynical ploy to compress it to two days.

OL @SpringborgMP says PCCC referral of Jo-Ann Miller to Ethics committee over document destruction would appear to "be a protection racket"

Well if Joker Jo-Ann loses her seat, the government will go down like a house of cards.

Jo-Ann is our local Member.  If she resigns and a by-election is called, I might stand as an independent.  My platform will be buzzing the 524 and upgrading Goodna rail station  ...  :-t :-r

The Seat of Bundamba is very safe Labor,  but I like a challenge   :P

You'll have at least one person campaigning for you, Bob :-r

On a more serious note, Bundamba was one of the few seats in the Tarago-slide of 2012 which stayed in the hands of the ALP. It would cause parliament to be prorogued (if it was sitting), but it would probably not lead to the fall of the government.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

#Metro

What? That's too tame. Obviously HSR Maglev is required in Ipswich, you could release a 'plan' and animation fly through video as well.

Just make sure the crucial thing - the music - is good.

Damn right, good planning needs good music!  After all, after the launch, it is generally all we have left.  The plan, memories of the launch, and the music ...  :P

Anyway, could be interesting today.  Proceedings commence at 0930 hours ..

@Qldaah @jackietrad Thanks!

Seems a ' fare ' review was mentioned.  I have been down the gym pumping iron   :bna: ... missed it

Will be able to check later on replay/transcript.

Later advice: Fare review taskforce has been announced by the Deputy Premier during estimates.  Expect details to be available on TransLink web site in due course.

Also stated that the TTCC should be phased out as of next year.

I feel pretty confident with my earlier guess that they were just waiting out the contract.

Good.

Of course the LNP rusted ons will now view us as a band of partisans - never mind the choice dialogue we were having with the ALP and the RTBU about the bus reforms of course.

2015 Budget Estimates - the good news!

Greetings,

Yesterday in the Budget Estimates, apart from the announcement of the  SEQ Fare Review Taskforce, it was revealed that the Tertiary Transport Concession Card (TTCC) is to be phased out and replaced with a technology based go card solution.  This is very good news.  The TTCC was a costly administrative burden on students and the educational institutions.

Also mentioned was a return to high quality quarterly reporting for Passenger Transport Services.  This has been a long concern of ours that the data that is made available publicly has been grossly inadequate, lacked real coherence, and was difficult to evaluate longer term trends.  We welcome this initiative.

It is good to see that some progress is finally being made with public transport.

Thank you.

Best wishes
Robert
