Through his own words, Mr Powell has put himself on notice and, by implication all the LNP Ministers on the Sunshine Coast, that the LNP political manifesto in 2015 must contain a watertight commitment to the SCL duplication occuring immediately.  Such is the toxic nature of this issue, the LNP members on the SC risk having a PT Party candidate stand against them.

Right now, politics seeps deeply through the transport agenda in this state -- to the extent that even sensible public servants are dismayed.

If the political battlefield is where the agenda is to be fought, that is where public angst will gravitate.  Mr Emerson must realise also that PT issues are high up in people's concerns in his electorate.  A PT Party could tap into that sentiment, concentrate its efforts in Indooroopilly and move to oust him.  That is, if Mr Newman doesn't move to fix the mess.

The mess was on display at the budget estimates hearings and it was ugly.
