SEQ: UQ Lakes Busway station upgrade - another job well done!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers welcomes the opening of the upgraded UQ Lakes busway station (1).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"UQ Lakes and the Eleanor Schonell Bridge have gone from strength to strength. It goes to show what can be achieved when public and active transport is prioritised over car travel. The upgraded station is bright, airy and has a high quality finish to it. Services to UQ Lakes are regularly overcrowded."

"Cycling to the University of Queensland has also exploded since the opening of the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. We hope that The University of Queensland will, in the future, consider a high-level, high capacity end of trip bicycle facility to accommodate demand."

"Congratulations on another job well done.  Time to consider the proper placement of more 'green bridges' to further facilitate improved public and active transport for the community."
