TransLink - Why don't they answer commuter questions ?

These are some sample questions put to TransLink recently.
They responded in just over a week which was good,  :-t
but unfortunately they didn't address all the questions raised.  ???

Q1.    Will TransLink be reviewing the very expensive fare structure for
long distance commuters ?

Q1.         Extensive TransLink market research indicated that the bulk of commuters
have a well established travel pattern, they make 10 journeys a week from
within the 10 zone radius.   In the introductory phase the go card was
designed to cater for the vast majority who have this travel pattern.

In the initial phase the go card is a one product card with additional
products to be added according to input from a variety of sources
including feedback such as that from customers who travel from outside 10
zones.

The TransLink go card is an alternative to paper tickets and those who
prefer to use paper tickets may still use them until such time as the go
card offers travel benefits equal to their existing travel arrangements.
We welcome feedback such as this so we may add further products to the go
card which takes into account customers who don't necessarily fit the
'majority user' model.

Q2.    If yes to Q1 above, and as I am a distance traveller, how soon will
this occur ?

Q2.    No answer.

Q3.    I read in the papers a couple of  months ago that TransLink are
removing the QR 3, 6 and 12 month tickets, is this true ?

Queensland Rail's 3,6 & 12 month rail passes are legacy products which
will be phased out over a period of time.  Customers will be given notice
prior to these passes being removed from sale.  A date for the removal of
these rail passes is yet to be determined.  All patrons who hold a 3, 6 or
12 month pass at the time of removal, will still be able to use their
passes up to their expiry date.

Q4.    Can you please tell me how many of the 50,000 GoCards issued have
been given away for free ?

Q4.    No answer.

Q5.    Are they still available for free, and where may I get one if they are ?

Q5.    No answer.

Q6.    Could you please tell me how many of the 50,000 GoCards issued have
been registered and how many are unregistered ?

Q6.    No answer.

Q7.     Is there an extra cost to register a GoCard ?

Q7.    No answer.

Their score is shown below :
Q1 - 1/2 mark ( they couldn't bring themselves to say yes - just an almost maybe )
Q2 - nil answer
Q3 - 1 mark
Q4 - nil answer
Q5 - nil answer
Q6 - nil answer
Q7 - nil answer

1 and 1/2 marks out of 7 isn't a good score.  :'(

It's just as well we live in a free country where Government is accountable to the people - or are they ?
It appears we are more the 'secret state' than the 'smart' one.

If you have a TransLink story to tell, let us know here.
Make sure you delete any references to names etc. so as to protect identities on both sides.

They tend to send out 'form' responses.  If there is some coincidence with your questions it is just fortuitous.

I have seen examples of correspondence from TL to different individuals with different questions.
Same form response with different salutations ...  no rational attempt to answer the questions.

LOL

Oh dear ...

PS. Nice use of TL colours there Fares_Fair!   :)

I think you are right Zoiks,
I went for a Christmas theme, hoping that they'll have this whole mess cleared up by then ..  :-r

The thing is... these problems should not be here to start with. The amount of feedback they got over their lengthy trial was effectivally ignored
