Problem with the current and post 18 June 2012 arrangements is that there will still be poor stop arrangements leaving Chermside towards the CBD.  One possible improvement would be to straighten the 340 so that it sticks to Gympie Rd.  This would help to encourage people to wait at Chermside Gardens inbound stop, rather than Chermside interchange.  A number of people actually get off the 330 at the Chermside Gardens stop but few get on in my experience, no doubt because of the pedestrian arrangements.

The obvious alternative is to run the 330 and 340 into Chermside Interchange, but I am not in favour of this as it would slow the services down.  I've previously thought about some sort of improved stop on Gympie Rd approaching Hamilton Rd but that seems unlikely to happen.

Mate, the Chermside Gardens stop is hardly used for getting on any services both inbound and outbound. Indeed inbound everyone bails there (330/335) or if people are getting on they are near the interchange (From other routes/closer/easier to access/drop offs/general shopping and as there are more routes 77/325/330/333/335/340/370 etc). I'd say make them tour the interchange to make travel unified, make interchanging/finding routes easier and more simple. They tour it outbound so they can tour it inbound. If the 340 is straightened then it should be in both directions. I'd go as far to say the same with the 330/335 as well (335 interchange then inbound via Hamilton Road - Same as the current 340 outbound route through Chermside). Stop at the interchange or bypass by staying on Gympie Road.

Which is what I was saying!  You don't see that that infers that a greater service there could see a number of people getting on there?

Why not run all of the 336/337, 338 and 680 this way?  Probably be of more use.

A possibility, but it would be a reduction in the service as opposed to the planned changes.

But the chermside gardens stop is pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the overall jist.

Just have them run into the interchange. Its not that much of a delay.

You still have to make space within the interchange to achieve that.

Translink couldn't design, run and correctly organise a PT network if it was its job  :-r

If capacity is an issue shift the 330 or the 340 to the 333 bays. Either have them stop at the interchange or bypass the interchange altogether by running along Gympie Road.

somebody

The latter is what is actually happening, and likely to continue.

Added the 370 to the poll.  Not sure why I didn't think of that before.
