This is what Butler Station will look like when the first trains and buses roll out of the outer suburban transport hub from as early as 2014.

Extending 7.5km north of the existing Clarkson Station, the new train line will end at a futuristic-looking train and bus station that will have 930 car bays.

Infrastructure in the $240.7 million project will include three bridges over the train tracks at Landbeach Boulevard, Benenden Avenue and the future Butler Boulevard.

The Public Transport Authority estimates more than 2000 passengers will board at Butler Station every weekday.

Four railcars have been acquired to accommodate the extra passengers and 11 new buses will provide feeder services into Butler and Clarkson stations.

Train and bus services have been promised by the end of 2014.
