Auckland plans to botch smart card fares project

They want to have a 50c rebate for connecting trips.  Ouch!  Similarly, monthly passes for rail/bus, different passes for ferries, daily capped fares.

Positive news is that they propose a future integration of the fares which they budget as costing $6m p.a. in lost revenue.

different passes for ferries? What for? Ah, propellers must command a premium...
