UPDATE: The flood-damaged train track near Cooroy won't be fixed until Tuesday afternoon.

Until then, Queensland Rail will transfer train users by bus from Cooroy to Gympie.

The track, which was damaged by the extreme weather and flooding, has taken longer than expected to repair.

Gympie North services will now terminate and start from Cooroy with bus connections arranged for customers.

Customers on long distance services will be transported byroad coach between Brisbane and Gympie.

Queensland Rail crews are working under difficult conditions to repair the damage as quickly as safely possible.

However, due to the heavy flooding in the Pomona area, the Pomona station will remain closed until further notice with road transport used in the interim.

Anyone planning to use the train between Brisbane and Gympie is advised to check with TransLink (www.translink.com.au) for up-to-date information.

Looks like the "Cooroylander" will make a brief return tommorow, at least until the tracks beyond Cooroy is given the all-clear for operational use again.

Stillwater

Pomona tempory platform is a mess -- the plywood surface has a wave curve, up and down, that would do a skateboard park proud.
