What are the shortest and longest bus routes in all states.  Just for interest.

Sydney has the 238 ...  a 4 minute route on some runs.

I don't think we have any runs that short, to my knowledge.

Both 313 and 402 take only 8 minutes (one way - ignoring the fact the 402 is apparently a 'loop') - those are the shortest routes in BT's area of responsibility, to my knowledge.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

Brisbane 598/599 longest?  ~ 3 hours 20 minutes ...

341, 342 and 495 are also very short, all less than 10 min.  I think these services mainly exist as positioning movements.

For SEQ, longest is easily the Great Circle Line 598/599.  I have a suspicion the equivalents in Adelaide (Suburban Connector 300) and Perth (Circleroute 98/99) may also be the longest in those cities although not entirely zure about Adelaide - some of the express services from the south of Noarlunga or Mt Barker may be longer.

Sydney might be the L90.

Melbourne would probably be the 901 Smartbus.

Shortest route I can think of off-hand for SEQ might be the 193.  A few years ago it would have been the 799 (Gold Coast Airport to Golden Four Drive) before that was removed.

As if the SCL trains weren't slow enough, the all-stops 649 (Nambour-Caboolture railbus) takes two hours and 24 minutes.

Where are you getting that time from?

I checked the timetable and it's typically 1.5 hr, give or take a few minutes, depending on the time of day.

I think he is adding the time taken by the bus on to the time taken by the train (generally all-stopping) to reach Caboolture.

But yes, it is only 1.5 hours. About as long as routes like the 566. The 250 takes longer (at 1hr 45mins) if it proceeds to the CBD.
