Queensland Ambulance Service take inital call of teenage boy, 16, hit by train but find boy instead kicked train, got his foot stuck, and was dragged down platform

A 16-YEAR-old boy is in hospital after he “kicked a train” at Beerwah on Wednesday night.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said that they initially received reports that a teenage boy had been run over by a train, about 8.55pm - but later descriptions of the event were less severe.

Police said that the young man kicked a train as it was leaving the Beerwah train station, when his foot got caught in part of the train door.

The boy was dragged several metres down the platform before he came unstuck.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said that the boy was taken to the Nambour Hospital with severe lacerations on one leg.

Police said that they believed Queensland Rail staff also had a few words with the wayward teen.

I'm guessing that he won't do it again, at least not with his right leg.

Frustration that he arrived too late at the platform to catch the train?  If Nambour was his destination, he got there via other means, albeit at considerably higher cost to taxpayers.

According to the TT there are no Nambour bound trains at that time (Nambour bound departures at 8:18pm and 9:48pm),  there is however a Brisbane bound service leaving Beerwah around 8:46pm.

The question is was he just loitering around with his buddies?  or trying to catch the last service back south (which in the case of the later, is poor time management in which he should've already missed it).

Sounds like an annoying s**t to me. The same thing happens daily all over the network. Some guy broke his leg kicking a train after he got off at Eagle Junction not too long ago. There have been a few incidents of people hurting their hands after grabbing at the EMU door handles as the train is wizzing out of the station. Brunswick Street has had its fair share of Keanu Reeves copycats aswell lol.
