470 Toowong-Milton Rd City (with periodical services to Tenneriffe Ferry)
* Increase frequency, esp later night services and during peak hour
* Bus often is not on time

Proposed changes to 470

Route via the Inner Northern Busway - nice connections to rail there, also avoids congestion.
Route directly down James Street and then via Lamington Street to terminate at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Pax for the Tenneriffe Ferry can change to 199/CityGlider and I doubt that there are huge numbers of people transferring at Tenneriffe plus there are other options.
Whereas this pocket in New Farm has both an entertainment venue (often parked out), park and very high density and is quite a decent walk away from the 199.

Getting to the Powerhouse could be as easy as getting any train or bus to Roma Street and then getting 470!

Do you mean split it in two? Eg Toowong - City and then a James St via INB section?

How can you use the INB without splitting the route in two?

Fully agree!

Come up with ideas! I've deliberately left it open for discussion.

Should it be split into two, or kept as one?
Should it connect to Tenneriffe or go to Powerhouse?
Is the frequency OK or not ok?
Where should it stop in the city?

etc etc.

Normally i would say 'go to Tenneriffe Ferry for interchange' but the ferry runs every 5 minutes, the cityglider and 199 have extremely high frequency it is not a big deal to do interchange. There are already heaps of buses heading to Tenneriffe now as it is.

I like the idea of continuing to Powerhouse, it gives a grid-style coverage at least to that part of New Farm.

What are people's thoughts on some sort of merger with 393?

I don't see how that's possible.

470 would be split in half. City-New Farm section would become City-Powerhouse via 393 route until Commercial Rd, it would continue to James St and then travel the length of James St to Lamington Ave and terminate.

Could either terminate at CC or in the CBD.

Do you mean to loop around via the INB?  Can't say that I'm a fan of that idea.

It wouldn't be ideal for those travelling to the City, but anyway I was just putting it out there.
