Minor changes to train services from 12 December

From Monday 12 December, there will be minor changes to some train services on the Rosewood, Ipswich, and Gympie North lines:

5.05am Rosewood to Ipswich train will depart Rosewood station three minutes earlier at 5.02 am (arriving at Ipswich at 5.23am), to provide a better connection to the 5.28am Ipswich to City train
5.56am Gympie North to Roma Street train will depart Fortitude Valley station five minutes earlier at 8.37am, to provide better connections at Central and Roma Street stations
7.52am Petrie to Richlands train will depart Central station five minutes earlier at 8.38am, reducing the wait time at Central to three minutes.

New timetables will be available soon.

I'm waiting for the adjustment to all inbound express services at Darra to depart 1 minute earlier & Indooroopilly 2 minutes earlier.

Likewise, outbound services can depart Darra earlier in the afternoon peak period.

There is currently speed restrictions approaching Wacol & Taringa stations & almost all of the inbound express services still arrive on time at Central in the AM peak - despite more than a minute's dwell at Darra & up to 2 minutes dwell at Indooroopilly.

Slight nit-pick, there is no speed restriction around Wacol. (All stations) trains slow coming into Wacol due to the signal before Wacol being restricted and the starting signal off Wacol being red. It is to do with the LX. It usually steps up to green just before the train stops at the mark. Same thing at Newmarket and Alderly on the Ferny Grove line as well as Sandgate (all 3 heading outbound). Express trains don't slow down as there is track circuiting to recognise how long the trains are in the previous section, if they pass that section within a certain amount of time the signals step up to green (if there is nothing in front, of course) and the trains go straight through.

Thank you petey3801 for the clarification.

I should have added that even though most express services from Ipswich may be arriving on time at Central in the AM peak, they are typically 1 minute late departing Milton & Roma St. Even if the timetablers don't want to remove any overall padding from the timetable, they could at least change the departure time from Indooroopilly to 1 minute earlier without changing any other departure times. There would still be about 1 minute's dwell time at Indooroopilly & services would then depart Milton & Roma St close to the scheduled departure time.
