More services are being added to the NightLink routes to get you home safely over the Christmas and New Year period.

    Christmas: Additional services for the christmas period will run every weekend from Friday 3 December until 12am Christmas morning.
    New Year's Eve: Extra services will also be available on Saturday 31 December until the early hours of New Year's morning.

All the usual stops will be operating, and buses will be running every half an hour between 1.00am and 5.30am. Trains will also be running from around 4am, and the flat fare taxis will be in operation.

The NightLink services are a great idea. Ferny Grove, Cleveland & Sandgate receive half hourly NightLink bus services between about 1am & 5.30am. It's a shame that the Caboolture, Ipswich & Beenleigh lines are only provided with a token single NightLink service for each line which depart Central after 3.45am.

It just doesn't make sense that there is more than a 3 hour gap between services to Ipswich, Caboolture & Beenleigh in the early hours of Saturday & Sunday during the festive season when half hourly bus services are provided to places like Victoria Point. Surely the busiest rail lines warrant some more NightLink services, whether they be by train or bus, between 1am & 4am? Why are those travelling home after Christmas parties in Brisbane to destinations along the Ipswich, Caboolture & Beenleigh line provided with such a poor service?

EDIT: Corrected the departure time of the NightLink rail services.

Gotta wonder what happened to the 2am service on the Beenleigh/Ipswich/Caboolture lines that usually is put on in the final weeks leading up to Christmas.

My suggestion is putting the "NightRider" Bus service for the suburban rail network on Friday and Saturday nights, operated by private operators within the TL network. (excluding beyond Ipswich, Beenleigh and Caboolture).

Friday 3rd December?  ::)

...the 3rd of December last year was a Friday. Nothing like a good old fashioned copy-paste.
