SEQ:  Thank you Mr Paul Scurrah

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers has thanked Mr Paul Scurrah, who retires today as CEO Queensland Rail.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"One of the first times I met Mr Scurrah was on a grossly overloaded train inbound from Oxley a number of years ago.  Shortly after that some timetable changes were made to ease the overloading."

"This was very heartening and since then improved communication and community engagement has been a hall mark of Queensland Rail (1)."

"Mr Scurrah's leadership has been an essential component of this."

"RAIL Back On Track members thank Mr Scurrah for his efforts as CEO of Queensland Rail, and wish Mr Scurrah well on his new position at QRN."

"Rail is going to be the major player in the sustainable transport future for Queensland and Australia."
