SEQ: 150 bus corridor improvements

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers calls for improvements to be made to the 150 bus route to improve its reliability, as well as the introduction of  N150  (Nightlink) bus service.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"There is currently no bus priority between Garden City and Browns Plains Plaza.  This causes buses to get caught up in traffic, and because the 150 route is so long buses tend to bunch up.  RAIL Back On Track members suggest that the 150 bus routed be divided into two BUZ routes, one serving as far as Compton Rd, and the other via the Gateway to that point."

"Similarly, the lack of a Nightlink N150 bus service is quite strange given that at last report the 150 bus route was the second busiest route in Brisbane (2).  Anecdotal evidence suggests that the last 150 bus service on Friday and Saturday nights is very well loaded, and much of the corridor has no reasonable alternative Nightlink service.  A N150 bus service could be achieved at a reasonable cost by extending the existing N111 service into an N150, serving all busway stations along the way."

"The 150 bus route is the longest route for Brisbane Transport,  it is about time some worthy improvements to its reliability and operating hours were examined!"
