Hello All

I was wondering why the electronic displays are either not working or partly working.

Stop A1 the list of next arriving buses are working but not the actual bus that is pulled into the stop is no display at all.

Stop A2 and A3 from memory are working ok.

Stop A4 is not working for either screen.

When the QSBS systems was running by Commodore 64's did not seem to have to many problems and if there were it seem to be fixed fairly quickly, however now it seems to be taking a while to get fixed.

If there are other displays in the QSBS not working please post.

Does anyone have any information in regards to this subject please post.

Thanks All

Bye

I'd suggest calling 3403 8888 and reporting it.

Of course they should check, but reporting (or writing to the lord mayor or local councillor) is usually a good way to get Council to act, especially when there's an election coming up.

Alternatively they know it isn't working it's going to cost too much to fix and they're hoping they can hand it off to Translink who is refusing.

Hasn't it been reported that Translink controls QSBS now? Perhaps the mix of responsibilities is part of the problem. Usually at busway stations this stuff is fixed pretty quickly.

QSBS seems to be a bit neglected since King George Square opened as the "flagship" station. I guess it doesn't help that it's starting to show its age generally. I think they'd probably stop using it if they didn't need the capacity...

Last I heard there was an argument about it as I'm pretty sure TL does the operations side of it, but BCC owns the physical side of things. IIRC both sides agreed that TL should take full ownership of it, but it was mostly a disagreement on price.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

As far as I am aware TransLink has no direct involvement with management of the station - and the principal reason why they have not taken it off BCC is because it is non-compliant (either with DDA or some fire safety issue).

The cynic in me suspects they will happily let BCC continue running it until they are required to upgrade it pursuant to DDA at which point they will happily take it off their hands without needing to pay for the upgrade.

Platform B is non DDA compliant.  Not aware of a fire safety issue, but it doesn't mean there isn't one.

Actually, yeah that sounds more familiar. Fairly sure it was a DDA issue.
