September delays thus far ...
to SC commuters.

The new timetable was supposed to make the services more reliable by adding 'fat' (extra time) into the timetable.
Our journeys are scheduled up to 10 minutes longer than the pre-June 6 timetable.
Is it more reliable ?

Do these reflect the on-time performance of our services ?
See for yourself by the growing list below;

FF,

As much as I disagree with QR's on-time standard guidelines (4 mins for suburbans, 6 mins for Sunshine and Gold Coasts  ::)), the trains that are between 3-6 minutes late should be noted as "within QR's 'on-time' standards"

Hello Arnz,

I note your point, but would add that many commuters (not R-BoT members) believe on-time performance to be just that
and not some spin created to redefine the common english language definition of words.

IMHO, 6 minutes late isn't a whole lot (unless you endure it and more almost every day like the Sunshine Coast has for the last 2 months)
but it isn't 'on time' by any common english definition in my books either.

QR's off-time performance is a more suitable and accurate definition that anyone would understand
without the need for some small asterisk at the bottom of a page telling the redefinition of common english phrases.

I was given a lift from my workplace in the CBD to Bowen Hills,
waited <1 minute and caught an ~5:20pm all stations train from there to Caboolture.
Disembarked at Caboolture and waited 15 minutes for the late running 6:25pm train which arrived at ~6:40pm.
Home to Palmwoods by ~7:40pm.

All in all I had a reasonably good trip home, with a seat all the way (I can't remember the last time that happened).

Fares_Fair.

Note: Times are very approximate as I didn't mentally note them like I usually would.

Just take comfort in the fact that it could have been far worse had you not been travelling on a 'world class' transport network.   ;D

I'll be getting out my Google Sky Map app to see if I can find the world they are referrring to.

You're lucky!  The 4pm train I caught yesturday was actually the delayed 3:30pm service.  Since it was the delayed service, it was only a 3-car service, boy it was a sardine can on the express Northgate to Caboolture leg, Once past Caboolture, we still had this (We still had 25 standees per carriage once we left Caboolture.. varying between 10-20 per door).  Quick video shot of yesturday's service (past Caboolture) onboard carriage IM6104 posted below.
