What I am trying to say is that a lot of people have concerns about the PT system, especially on the Sunshine Coast, and therefore have nominated.

Hello Simon,

With respect, do you know that for a fact ?
Do you know how many from the Coast nominated ?

I agree with your rationale as to the cause, if it is the case.

I thought I was fairly clear that I was speculating, hence the word "probably"

I'm more suggesting that the system overall shall we say has significant room for improvement.

Fares_Fair

Sorry, clearly I missed that word. You did, and it does !

99 of those 120 are probably pensioners only interested in their local bus to the shops.

Are the other 21 RailBoT members?

Personal opinion. Pensioners are actually already well represented on the group indirectly through Queensland Council of Social Service, Carers Queensland, Disabilities Council Queensland, Federation of Ethnic Communities Council, Returned and Services League of Australia, and directly by Council on the Aging (Queensland), Older People Speak Out.  I would expect the final selection from the nominations would take that into account.

Ms PALASZCZUK: Mr Speaker, we are delivering a world-class public transport system here in
South-East Queensland. As I have said time and time again, we are listening to what public transport
commuters out there have to say. That is why I have established the Public Transport Advisory Group.
Today I can report to the House that over 120 people have applied to be public transport champions in
South-East Queensland, to be on that Public Transport Advisory Group. One of the concerns that
people have been expressing to me is in relation to the six-month and 12-month passes. This is
something that as minister I am seriously looking at and about which I have had discussions with the
Treasurer. It is one of the items that the Public Transport Advisory Group will be looking at in detail over
the coming months ...

I hope it does but expect might be too strong a word in my opinion
