What is with this route?  Basically it covers part of the 340/341 route beyond Aspley, part of the 343 route and a negligible part of the 325/335/339 route with a slightly strange version of the "City Precincts" route through the city.  However, the the 341 covers the same stops O/B except swaps Cathedral Square for stop 4 and "The Ridge" for "Fortescue", similarly the 343 serves Charlotte & Margaret which is near enough to the "City Precincts" route for my money.  The only part where this route makes any sense is the bit on Webster Rd where it can be argued it supplements the 325 with a "City Precincts" route, but even that is still strange.  I don't believe that Webster Rd has enough patronage to justify "City Precincts" service.

I say cull it.

I just have to ask...have you been on it to see the patronage before making this conclusion?  Or have you just looked at the map and said cull it?

Fair question.  No, I haven't been on it.  Seen one go by, I think with no one on it, but that's not a good sample size.  Even if it had reasonable loadings I wouldn't say anything different.

You don't see it's yet another example of PT in Brisbane being more confusing than what it needs to be?

I'll make some general comments about simon's post. I think there should be fewer routes but with more frequency. Personally I don't really understand the whole pre-paid rocket thing which seems to mirror existing rockets/buz anyway. Does it really save that much time? Perhaps I could be enlightened.

Nothing wrong with looking at the map and culling services which reduce legibility.

I tend to agree - this service adds nothing except confusion.  What would these passengers be using if there was no 344 and the resources were funnelled into extra services on other routes?

Plenty of services like this all over Brisbane - chop chop I say.  The result should be a better network that is easier for everybody to understand all day.
