Butting out at stations

Corinda station is one of many enjoying a minor upgrade. New waste bins have been placed within the concourse. No smoking is permitted on the concourse, of course, so the smokers (seemingly a significant % of station staff, not to mention arriving travellers) inhale and butt out before ascending the majestic steps onto the concourse.

So the western approaches are covered in butts (all dropped by passengers, I'm reliably informed by smoking staff).  :pr

These butts are not merely untidy, but poisonous to our waterways as they are inevitably washed into stormwater drains, and thence into Moreton Bay. Campaigns to reduce butt pollution on beaches have had good effect, but QR won't (so staff inform me) provide butt bins in the only place that staff or arriving passengers can smoke and butt out.

I don't think Corinda station is the only smokers' paradise on the train and bus network in SEQ. Any info about butt bins at bus stations?

There's one at every station. They were investigating a mass rollout of butt bins when I was there (around 09) but obviously that idea didn't get wings.
